Emily Gitkin graduated from the Juilliard School of Music in New York City and attended graduate school at NYU where she attained a Master's Degree in Composition and Piano. She has received many awards in both studies and traveled throughout Europe, Russia and the USA performing her music. When Emily celebrated her brother's wedding 14 years ago, she decided to write a string quartet for the processional music as the bridal party and bride walked down the aisle. This was one of the most beautiful and touching moments of the wedding and the guests agreed. Tears were shed and it made the experience that much more personal. Shortly after, she received requests from her close friends to compose something original for them. Similar reactions took place at those weddings. Her friends added it to their wedding programs and guests, too had a very personal and emotional reaction to the addition of original music at their weddings. Emily now has numerous clients who have the musical memory of original music to remember their wedding. Her music is touching, emotional and filled with the spirit of romance. Her music infuses Romanticism with a modern ballad style.
